i walked across, AN EMPTY LAND. I KNEW THE PATHWAY LIKE THE BACK OF MY HAND. I FELT THE EARTH BENEATH MY FEET. SAT BY THE RIVER AND IT MADE ME COMPLETE. OH, SIMPLE THING, WHERE HAVE YOU GONE? I'M GETTING OLD AND I NEED SOMETHING TO RELY ON. SO TELL ME WHEN YOU'RE GONNA LET ME IN. I'M GETTING TIRED AND I NEED SOMEWHERE |
[/div] to begin, [/IMG][/div] The tea shop was crowded. As she took her cup of earl gray in hand she looked around to see if there was a seat in the busy tea shop. It was the afternoon and the place was crowded with co-eds and college kids but maybe one of them would let her get off her feet as she made her way through the line.
Stopping in front of a handsome college student she smiled as she approached, "Would you mind if I sat here? I've got to get off my feet before I drop." she said apologetically, "My name is Yuki." she offered as she looked at him hopefully offering him her free hand as she tried to juggle her drink. She was wearing her usual biker leathers and a nice blouse underneath.

Roden was sitting there, in what seemed like a crowded night in the tea shop. He wasn’t one big for tea, but he had a few books scattered on the table as he was taking over notes and making his own little summary from a class he had earlier today. Was good to make them while they were still fresh in his head and he could remember what the professor was talking about. If not then well, head have to read more to remember what was said in that class. So as he was there writing up a storm, he was suddenly interrupted by someone who was seemingly looking for a place to have a seat in the oddly crowded tea shop.
Now Roden wasn’t one to talk to just anyone, his shyness prevented him from being the conversationalist he could be, but hey it could be worse, he could be friendless too, and that wasn’t the case, because he had three buddies of his own. So as the woman asked to have a seat, a shy smile was suddenly seen on Roden’s face as he pulled some of his books out of the way, to make some room, it seemed like he was taking over the whole table on his lonesome. “Sure, sure, let me just get these out of the way” he said kindly, moving his books out of the way, trembling a bit, because he was all shy and nervous now, he wasn’t sure how he was going to keep anyone remotely interested in a conversation, he could barely say anything really. “maybe you should sit down before we get more acquainted, but I’m Roden”, not that he didn’t want to shake her hand she looked like she was going to drop something if she didn’t sit down soon. Though he did think it may have come across as rude. Well he hoped not, “kind of crowded today” he said, hoping he didn’t say anything wrong, it was just like him to do that.

She sat down gratefully next to the young man, "Thanks. Its a madhouse in here. Who knew that tea would be so popular?" she joked lightly as she got comfortable, "Pleased to meet you, Roden. Yeah. Gotta love the month before finals. I remember when I was getting my criminal justice degree it was just as busy where I went to school. What do you major in?" she asked in between calm sips of tea as she began to decompress.
She did glance around the room, never one to ignore her surroundings as they talked. You never knew when a businessman might bump into you with a cup of coffee and ruin your day. She'd seen it happen. It also helped to know where you lived. She knew there would be plenty of places to scout out in L.A. Mom and pop diners, bakeries, clothing stores. The possibilities were endless. Besides she needed more friends than just Lilith. She offered her hand out after a moment, "Its good to meet you." she said after a polite pause.

Roden smiled at her, as she took a seat. He was a bit nervous about it all, because well, he had to hold a conversation with someone and Roden was not the best or strongest conversationalist. But lucky for him, she knew how to say a lot, Roden was more a man of a few words. When she said the tea house was like a mad house, her just nodded and agreed with her. “Yeah it is” he said kindly, flashing a smile to her. So she wondered what he majored in, well guess he had to try to talk now. “Well I major in psychology and well, that explains these heavy books” he tried to say with a bit of humor, he probably wasn’t one of those guys who was going to get far with humor or jokes.
But Roden could tell she was already bored with him, she was looking around, she was looking for her great escape, with his stupid lame joke, he managed to make her bored. That’s what came to Roden’s mind, it’s what he thought when he saw her looking around, kind of scouting the area. But to his surprise, she pulled out her hand and wanted to properly introduce herself, guess she was looking for someone instead of somewhere to run too. Roden just smiled and shook her hand “Yes, nice to meet you as well” as Roden moved the rest of his books out of the way and put them in his bag as he turned his attention to Yuki, “So what brought you here? The sweet scent of tea” Roden said jokingly, trying to not sound like a completely lame guy. Which he thought he was, but boy was he a bit nervous talking to this woman sitting across from him.

Yuki chuckled at his jokes. He was cute and easy on the eyes. She always did like a bit of dorkieness to her men. It made them fun to be around. "That has to be interesting. What's been the favorite part of your classes so far? Or are you more about the parties like some folks here?" she teased lightly as she sat next to him, making sure he knew she wasn't judging either choice. Live and let live was her motto and if this guy could have fun and get through school more power to him. He had gorgeous eyes and she could think of worse things than sitting by a cute guy drinking tea.
Beaming at him she chuckled, "I'm a private investigator. Hense all the looking around I've been doing. I mostly just wanted to relax and kick back but my training to always know the area you're in kicks in. I'm sorry if it seems like I'm distracted. I don't mean to be. I'm just used to taking everything in." she grinned happily as she looked at him. "I'm glad I ran into someone nice. It helps given that I'm new to the city. There is just so much here. Its amazing." she enthused happily. She was trying to put him at ease as she took a breath and drank more tea. Letting him catch his breath but also letting him know she was happy to keep talking with him in the bustling shop.
