Cassandra had been having a fairly uneventful day at work, thankfully, so she was able to do some information gathering on her own stuff. To her delight she was able to get some information on a vampire that had started a little bit of a spree and was causing a little more havoc than even some other vampires liked, due to all the attention he was getting. This had just been what she had been wanting all week and she was more than ready for a good night of hunting. Right after she got off of work she went home and quickly got changed before meeting up with an informant and finding out where the vampire was going to be hanging out that night. Granted, her information wasn’t human and she didn’t know for absolutely sure that it wasn’t going to end up being a setup of some kind to try to trap her and kill her but she figured she didn’t have anything else to go on, so she went for it.
It took her about thirty minutes to get across town to the area that she needed to be in and it was definitely not a place that anyone would ever think to find her. If she wanted to disappear from the radar this would be the place to do so. The streets were dark and barely lit by a few street lamps that hadn’t broken or burned out and were still waiting to be replaced or fixed. It even had a feel to it that was dark and it was a feeling that she could honestly say she hadn’t experienced very often and hoped that she would never become accustomed to. This was that feeling that made the hair on the back of your neck stand on end with any normal person and she was sure that any normal girl on these streets at any time of day would be considered an easy, vulnerable target. As for herself, she was anything but that, although it did make her grin to think of what she could do if someone decided to try to make her one.
As she pulled up into the alley next to the bar the vampire was likely to be in she glanced over the area to make sure she had different ways of exiting the area. She parked her motorcycle right next to the building and gave a little sigh as she realized how many enemies she had managed to make in the six months she had been here and she wondered how many of them knew who she really was. Of course it was easy to find out that she was a United States Deputy Marshal and that she had come here from New York City, but she wondered how many of them actually knew she grew up in San Diego or what her father actually was seeing her mother was the only human one of her parents. She stepped in front of her motorcycle and leaned against the wall of the building keeping her eye on the front door of the bar, as well as scanning the street now and then. At this point she just hoped that her information was solid and that she didn’t end up staking out this place all night for a vampire that never showed here and instead ended up with another kill somewhere else.

i walked across, AN EMPTY LAND. I KNEW THE PATHWAY LIKE THE BACK OF MY HAND. I FELT THE EARTH BENEATH MY FEET. SAT BY THE RIVER AND IT MADE ME COMPLETE. OH, SIMPLE THING, WHERE HAVE YOU GONE? I'M GETTING OLD AND I NEED SOMETHING TO RELY ON. SO TELL ME WHEN YOU'RE GONNA LET ME IN. I'M GETTING TIRED AND I NEED SOMEWHERE |
[/div] to begin, [/IMG][/div] The smell of the streets here were a little different than the last places she had been in. There was the oder of waste and desperation even in a city like L.A. Poverty was everywhere and this place was no different. There was rumors of a vampire that was making girls disappear in this area so trolling for him ought to be easy. She went into the club and danced her ass off. Catching the eye of Mr. Tall Dark and Deadly.
He came over and she played coy. Reeling the "playboy" in with the shy girl that liked to be bad act. Seemed like vamps got an extra kick knowing that they could corrupt people. She followed him outside with a trepidatious nod, her eyes mock wide as he pressed up close to her. Something in the wind caught his attention because he paused and looked about. Glancing in Cass' direction even as Yuki strained to see what else he was picking up, "What is it?" she said nervously as she pretended to be creeped out by his wariness. Her dark eyes scanned the area for anything out of the ordinary. The creek of her leather pants was one of the only sounds in the ally as the vamp moved away from her a moment to see if he could catch the scent of something.
Inwardly she sighed as she waited. It didn't take much acting to look put out. She wanted to get this over with not have Mr. Paranoid make her have to look for another opening. She only knew herself and Lilith in this town apart from that girl with the loud hair. Not a good start to her getting a feel of the place. She exhaled as he turned a corner and she prepared to walk behind him and finish the job. Her weaponry at the ready, hidden in her jacket she waited for her moment to strike.

Cassandra was starting to wonder if she was really in the right place to find the guy she was looking for, or if he had decided to go somewhere else for the night. Just when she started to think that maybe she needed to go make some rounds and see if he was indeed somewhere else, he came out of the bar’s front door with a young woman on his arm. He started to move in on her and Cass started to slowly move around the corner so that when he made his strike, she could make hers. However, when he froze she realized that he caught her scent and she quickly disappeared back round the corner into the alley. She leaned back against the wall of the building listening closely to hear if he started to come her way or if he was going to go ahead with his chosen target and she’d get another shot at him that way.
At first she thought he was going to stay with the young woman but soon she heard him start in her direction and she quickly moved a bit further down the alley, turning her back toward where he would be coming from and quickly pulling out her phone to fake sending a text, when she would actually just be texting her spare phone at home. It was a good cover she had actually picked up from an undercover cop in New York and she often found herself using it these days when she was off on one of her little side tracks hunting down a bad guy that would never see prison time but definitely needed to be stopped. She was able to type a few words before he came around the corner and started toward her. She could smell his cologne and she was fairly certain that he had decided to take his chances of trying to get two girls instead of just the one tonight.
As he got closer, she hit the send button and spun around at the last second to come face to face with the vamp and his sickeningly charming grin. She slightly smiled and put her phone back in her pocket so that her hands would be free to do what she needed to in order to get rid of this guy. However, as soon as she spotted the other girl following the vampire then she had to rethink her plan. It wasn’t like she had much training with fighting and though that is usually an important thing to learn, she often found herself relying on her powers. This relying on her powers often wasn’t a problem but at the moment, as far as she knew, she was now in front of a human, she would have to rethink her plan of action and instead just smiled at the vampire before moving to the side in order to go around him and back to her motorcycle… at least for the moment until she got another idea for a plan to wipe this guy off the grid for good. |

Yuki had the bastard in her sites. He was all set to be dusted and then this innocent had to wander into the mix. 'FML!' she thought as she ran a hand through her hair. She really didn't know what to do now. You didn't let civilians see you dusting a vamp. It looked like the gal was going to ask a question so she causually cocked a hip and smirked. "Do you know this guy?" she asked casually as the handsome vampire grinned at both women.
"No need to fight over me, ladies. There is more than enough of me to go around." the vampire said expansively as he smirked at Yuki and Cass each in turn. Yuki rolled her eyes behind the vampire's back in plain view of Cass making it plain that she wanted something from the guy and it might not be what Cass thought.
"Well, if you've got the time handsome give me your digits and I'll call you. After all I'd hate to loose touch with you. With a city this big its easy to be lost in the crowd." she said as she tilted her head to hear him rattle off his number. Distraction would get this guy away from the other chick and free her to kill him. Her phone beeped at that point and she looked at it, "Damn I've got to head home. Look why don't you and I step over here around the corner and swap numbers and then you can say hello to the nice lady here after I leave." Yuki offered.
It was worth a shot anyway. Anything to free the brunette from tall, dark and fangy.

Cassandra knew that the smirk on the vamps face was a dead give away of what he had in mind for the two women standing in the alley with him. Honestly, at the moment she was completely conflicted about what steps she should take next and how best to approach the situation. She knew that she could work that angle but she wasn’t sure that it would be best for him to be back on the main street when he died. The other part that had her a bit concerned was also how she was going to get this other girl to walk away and be able to take this guy out before she noticed anything amiss. She looked at the young woman as she first spoke and shook her head slightly.
“Not yet… with yet being the key word.” She smirked slightly and glanced toward the vampire that was obviously very content to having both women around him. As he spoke, she automatically tensed. His statement was just like that of any other guy that may be flirting with two attractive young women but the intent behind it was what she reacted to and for a moment she wasn’t sure if she was going to be able to keep herself from just out and out killing the vamp in front of this girl, no matter who she was. Then she heard the other woman pipe up about giving him her number for later and that they should step around the corner to talk about it. This again raised her concern for the young woman and she started to quickly run scenarios through her mind to try to figure out the best way to take out the vampire and keep this girl safe at the same time.
“It’s alright… I’ll wait here.” She smiled softly and maintained the sweet, innocent, vulnerable young woman look while she slightly tilted her head to the side. She figured she would wait until both of them had their backs to her, and from the positions they were in the vamp would be just behind the other woman, so she could strike him without necessarily alerting the girl as to what was going on. Honestly though, the whole situation had her nervous. There were too many factors as far as she was concerned and the main factor of worry was the young woman. The girl had to be human or the vampire wouldn’t have chosen her. Also, if she messed up taking this vamp out and the girl got hurt because of it, that blood would be on her hands. Then there was the concern that if she used her powers flat out that she would then be exposed and that could lead to a whole new danger that she may be faced with. She was careful not to actually sigh, but she definitely did in her mind and she hoped that if the girl did see her use her power that maybe the girl would be on her side and let it slide as kind of a payback for putting the monster down. She set off her own alert on her phone, as though she had gotten another text message, and quickly pulled it out to respond dropping her eyes to the phone but actually watching the vamp and girl so that when they made their move, she could make her own. She got this funny feeling about this girl, but she brushed it off and instead just tried to stay focused on her task at hand.
