Cassandra had been very busy this week but after she had worked with a team to take down a fugitive up in Santa Maria. The fugitive they were after was a careful one but they had figured out that he was trying to work his way back to an old girlfriend that lived there. They put together a team and made all of the arangements were made and then they just waited for him to spring the trap. Only thing was, he made one of the other marshals and took off on foot which later led to a shootout resulting in the fugitives death. So yeah, it was one of those nights were she just wanted to escape the world and let herself be sucked into the atmosphere of the place.
As she walked into Inferno, she couldn’t help the grin from the ironic connection the name had to her powers, she smiled slightly. True, she could have just stayed home and gotten a lot drunker for the same amount of money. However, it wasn’t just the booze that had drawn her here but the need to wreak some havoc, have some fun, and just socialize with some normal people, well at least mostly normal people. She grinned noting that the place was already packed and she slowly made her way up to the bar to order a glass of bourbon, more specifically Jack Daniels on the rocks. As she got her drink she softly lifted it to her lips and took a small sip from the glass looking over the crowd in front of her. Yeah, she was pretty sure that this night was going to be a good one and maybe even have the potential for a little excitement along the way
At first she thought that she would slowly make her way around the room until she found somewhere she wanted to sit down but after deciding it was far too crowded to do so. She glanced around and spotted an empty barstool so she made her way that direction, which thankfully wasn’t far, and sat down still working on her drink, Though if she kept up the speed she was drinking at now, she would be drunk before long. She grinned at the thought and took another drink. Most people it took them hours or sometimes even days in order to recover from being extremely intoxicated but with her it was a totally different story. Seeing as she had her little ‘talent’ with pyro-kinesis, her body burned off alcohol almost like it was nothing and so it took her a lot more to get drunk in the first place and then sadly she wasn’t able to stay in that state more than a couple of hours. It kind of stunk not being able to drink a bunch of alcohol at the beginning of the night and just enjoy yourself the rest of the night. However, it also meant she was able to get completely drunk and as long as she did a little stalling, by the time she left a club or bar she could be completely sober again. Handy, if she needed it to be but right now all she wanted was that lost, relaxed bliss of being trashed. So she threw back the rest of her drink quickly and ordered a second. |

Sedaiyus could be a eye full to take in unquestionably for both men and woman. He was naturally a very blandiloquent man. He had evocative alluring ocean eyes that sparkled in the light, almost hypnotic and entrancing if one let themselves go to their very enticing appeal. His near flawless body was well toned and muscular but not buff or burley holding masculinity without giving up many elegant features one may find in woman. This no doubt would bring cynosure to many men to sought such a figure. His skin was always well blended and tanned just right, not light but far from too bronzed. His skin itself was silk like, soft to the touch, never rough. When embraced in his arms one would easily describe a gentleness about him, certainly graceful, but at the same time holding great strength and security. He had well taken care of white teeth that made his smile shine, a smile that could lighten the night sky and melt the hearts of both men in woman at the same time. Even his soft and mellifluous voice was something to behold easily soothing and warming the hearts of most young woman. In this particular case Sedaiyus made sure he was more than particularly well dressed as he usually was. In fact he was either too well dressed or not dressed enough, no middle ground really, though Sedaiyus preferred the latter. The less cloths the better, but some places it couldnt be helped. The place was pretty packed but Sedaiyus got around just fine. There were few things his charm couldn't get him through. Overall Sedaiyus was very impressed, it wasn't bloodlust with a wonderfully featured brothel but for an establishment owned by 'the good guys' Sedaiyus was pleasantly surprised. The trinity brothers owned this establishment. They were supposedly the prophesied bunch that were destined to fight back the plagued vampire incursion on this world. Or so it was told, Sedaiyus never agreed or even really believed in such none sense. From what he saw the vampires were quite a remarkable race and for a half breed race derived from his own kind they weren't too shabby. The way his mother explained it to him was that demon kind use to rule the lands unopposed in complete happiness. They kept order and lived freely. But over time the other races grew jealous and when the demons power grew to rival that of the gods, the gods stepped in and sided with the other jealous races to destroy everything. They claimed it was for the greater good but their solution to stopping the demons was to use the humans to create even more viscous and monstrous creatures than any could call a demon; werewolves. Uncontrollable, always hungry, animalistic killers. They would kill their own kind, other non turned humans, just out of bloodlust. The demons tried to protect the humans by creating their own hybrid, vampires. Vampires held great strength and ability, but they sacraficed the levels werewolves held in order to maintain their human intelligence to properly act against the werewolves. In time the vampires age would strengthen them to levels even beyond werewolves as well. Vincent as the first, led the vampires to succeed in almost eradicating the entire species. And atlas humanity so it seemed was safe once again. But something the demons of old didn't foresee occured. Their creation because it held onto its intelligence began plotting plans of his own, using its power, it turned against its demon creators will and formed its own agenda. Breaking away the vampires became its own independent race and ravaged the lands as they pleased. The demons weakened from war and most of the more powerful ones vanquished and sealed away, there was little that could be done. And so it was a ever bloody war for mellenia all because of jealous gods and their followers. Ever since then demons have been depicted as evil and sources of chaos, something Sedaiyus takes personally offensive. If werewolves and vampire wanted to tear eachother to pieces, Sedaiyus didn't really care, but he would admit, he admired both species beauty and would rather keep them both around. Sedaiyus made his way to the bar. A seat opened up just as he arrived next to a very beautiful woman. Sedaiyus sat down and started a tab and ordered a glass of jack and coke and held a grin on his face but his eyes showed a certain burden to them. When the bar tender asked what was wrong Sedaiyus just explained "Oh just a rough day. First time here, seemed like a good enough escape from what I have gotten myself into. Its strange ya know, one day you are minding your own buisness flirting with a girl and the next her psychotic father who happens to be a high ranking member of the russian mob walks in on you and tells you after knocking you around a bit that you got twenty four hours to get a head start. Oh yeah, the best part, apparently the mob owns three quarters of LA's finest, go figure. So tonight, I am going to get hammered, hopefully find someone fun to spend my time with, and pretend like none of this ever happened at all. Here is the crazy thing too, heh, the girl is still trying to talk to me as if she can help." The bartender looked shockingly at Sedaiyus. He asked why he didn't try a higher branch of law enforcement than the city police if it was that serious. "Yeah I thought about that, in fact I almost made the call right after I semi-recovered from my beating, but he had the luxury of bringing in two members of his group to the room I was in. At least they looked to be members of his little organization, well, not so little. Turns out, under cover DEA. He shot and killed both of them right in front of me. They arn't afraid of that kind of threat, you cant beat these guys by using the law. Don't sweat it though, I just want to forget about it all." Sedaiyus said as he took a sip of his drink. Sedaiyus sighed faintly. "I guess I had it coming. When you have dated or partied with pretty much every known criminal this city has to offer and learn the ins and outs of everyones buisness I suppose I shoulda known better, knew who she was and what I was getting into. God im such a sucker for a pretty face. I always said one day it was going to get me in trouble. I never thought it would be like this. Lot of good all those contacts and 'friends' do me now too. No one can protect me from these guys. Oh well." Sedaiyus turned to the beautiful woman he was sitting next to as if he had only just noticed her. "Oh geeze this is embarrassing. Here you are trying to enjoy yourself and im over here ranting about none sense spoiling your evening. I apologize miss. I'm Sedaiyus by the way. The pleasures all mine I am sure." Sedaiyus said apologetically.

Cassandra wasn’t surprised when just after the barstool next to her had barely opened up, it was quickly filled again. The man of whom had taken the seat looked to be around twenty-five or thirty and good looking from first glance, though she didn’t give him much thought as she let her eyes scan the room looking over the crowd that was big enough you could easily get lost in it. She did however hear what the man next to her was telling the bar tender and her interest quickly peaked at the mention of the Russian Mob. She instantly quit scanning the crowd and instead dropped her eyes to the floor just in front of her. She listened closely catching all the information that she could from the conversation, including that the local PD possibly had a heck of a lot of guys on the Russian’s employment list. She knew LAPD had some bad cops but she wouldn’t have thought the numbers would be as high as what this guy was claiming, so she figured she’d check it out when she was at the office on Monday.
She found it amusing that this guy thought he was going to drink away his problems tonight. Though she had to admit that she had done the same thing a couple of times and even though it often lasted for the night, the problem was still there the next morning. Her ears also latched on to the information of two dead DEA Agents. Great… Just great… That’ll be the new case at the office… The guys next comment kind of caught her off guard as he lightly mentioned his dating and partying history as being a source for his problems. For being in as deep as he was, he seemed to her to be extremely calm about it. She couldn’t believe that any normal guy wouldn’t be more concerned about what he had gotten himself into and so she was getting a little suspicious. She kept herself quiet and her eyes on the floor until the man next to her turned to face her and began apologizing for his venting conversation with the bartender. She couldn’t’ help the grin that played on her lips as he seemed suddenly go from bummed and venting to apologetic and charming within moments. As he introduced himself, she slightly turned on her own stool so she was facing him a bit better and gave a little nod.
”Nice to meet you Sedaiyus. I’m Cassandra, and I’d have to disagree… as the pleasure is also mine.” She took another long drink from her glass of bourbon and nearly emptied her second drink. She placed the glass on the bar and brought her eyes back to Sedaiyus.
”And there’s no need to apologize. I really don’t mind. My day was spent with a team chasing down a guy in Santa Maria, so it’s kind of nice to hear my day wasn’t as bad as a day could get. Something tells me the little cut on my leg is going to be healed up long before you completely are.” She ordered two shots of Patron and handed one to Sedaiyus.
”To not so good days and the nights that follow…” She held up her shot glass for a moment waiting on him and keeping her eyes peeled for anything suspicious around her, like always. |

Sedaiyus chuckled faintly at Cassandra's comment. He playfully responded "Oh well by all means. If my horrible day can bring some kind of peace of mind and pleasant realization to at least one beautiful woman in this city before I go out with a bang....figuratively or literally, then I will admit my actions were not a complete waste. I suppose I have no regrets, heh." Sedaiyus said jokingly somehow able to carry out his care free nature just fine and find amusement in his situation still. For those that actually knew him for who he truly was, this wouldn't come as a surprise. Any problems with even a notorious organization like the russian mob which did feature a vamp or two and possibly some demonic assistance wasn't a real threat to Sed just a very annoying nuisance which would no doubt ruin his fun here in the city. Sedaiyus smiled happily as he raised the glass Cassandra bought him "I appreciate the sentiment. But how about, to new friends, and better days to come instead." Sedaiyus clinked his glass to hers and then drank. "How about you let me buy you the next. Just to be fair. I have never been one to give up so easily so I would like to see this as my worst night to come. Though from the way things are going at least from the company anyways I don't think it has turned out all that bad. If you don't mind me asking something that I hope is not too personal, what exactly are you doing running around such a dreadfully dull place chasing people with a team for? Are you in some kind of super hero gang that I should know about? Surely such a breath takingly gorgeous girl such as yourself would have plenty of better things to do than run around after low lifes all day. Then again I might be inclined to admit you would probably be doing a better job than the local police so I suppose you are right, no point in calling the men in blue when you can just do it yourself."
Sedaiyus sipped his drink and sighed faintly. "You know I have spent my entire life wasting away in luxury, indiscriminate play, and complete obliviousness to the terrible things people do including the so called friends I surround myself with I never stopped to think until it all came back to bite me what a mistakes its been. I just wish there was more I could do to help to help make up for all the times I have just sat idly by. Was it really so wrong though? I mean its not my fault or responsibility to help people even if I could. Is it so wrong of me to want to live my life having a good time the whole time? Why do I need to feel guilty about that? I can't save everyone anyways even if I wanted to so why bother? Its not like I actively work to hurt others." Sedaiyus laughed a little. "Wow, I didn't actually realize exactly how selfish that sounded until I said it out loud. Sounded better in my head. God I am an idiot. Karma I guess." Sedaiyus gazed over to Cassandra. "Well enough of me. I grow tiresome of my boring problems. Tell me more about you Cassandra, besides harboring such a lovely name, do you have any passions here in this great city or is it all work and little play like most people I meet?" Sedaiyus finished his drink then set the glass down now providing his full attention to Cassandra. His sea blue eyes seemed to glimmer like the ocean itself even in the slightly darkened atmousphere of a night club. His unnatural cynosure expressed openly as he grinned and waited for Cassandra to speak, listening intently.

Cassandra grinned as she heard Sedaiyus’ light tone as he commented about her remark and then made a toast. As she took a sip of her drink after he clinked their glasses together, she listened to him as he offered her next drink to be on him and then continued on lightly flirt in his comments of the information she had already provided him. She grinned as he mentioned her team and slightly giggled as he questioned if they were super heroes or something similar. When he refered to her as being breath takingly gorgeous she closed her eyes and smirked. That had been the out and out flirting that she had been preparing herself for though she understood why he was questioning why she was chasing low lifes, as he referred to them. She had gotten very used to getting questioned about her career choice and she had also gotten pretty good at defending her choice of work as well.
As Sedaiyus continued on and started to get into how he felt about his life, she took another sip from her drink and scanned the crowd just behind him. She noted faces for reference later if she needed to remember them and then returned her attention back to the man in front of her and the beautiful blue eyes he had. Instantly she caught that thought of his eyes and mentally laughed at herself knowing that it was probably the alcohol she had drank so quickly and that before long, if she didn’t drink anymore, that her body would burn it off and she’d be back to being sober. She caught some key words in what he was saying that told her, this guy might turn out to be very useful to her in both of her lines of work. As his gaze drifted back over to her, she slightly smiled and continued to listen.
”Well… sadly, my time in the city has been much more about work than anything else. However, tonight is about just relaxing and having some fun. After a long day at work, it’s just what I need.” She took a sip off of her drink and grinned at Sedaiyus before she continued on to address some of his other, earlier observations. She glanced around the room as she began to speak.
”As for my team, we always run as a team when we’re apprehending a fugitive. I’m a United States Deputy Marshal and so I guess you could say chasing down low lifes is just what I do. Granted, I could probably take up some other line of work but I guess my background growing up made me more drawn to law enforcement and I figured that being with a local PD just wouldn’t be good enough for me. I wanted to be up in the top levels and seeing FBI and CIA didn’t appeal to me so I decided on the Marshals Service.” As she finished speaking she returned her attention back to Sedaiyus and slightly smiled. She took another sip off of her drink and shrugged.
”I guess that should explain why I found the story of your situation so interesting. I hope you can forgive me if my comment about it was rude.” She probably had been a little out of line with the comment, though she had thought it was entertaining that she hadn’t had the worst day in the world. She wondered about this guy and what had gotten him so involved with all of these people that he was now not so impressed with. As she pondered this a little bit without asking him anymore questions, she took another swig of her drink leaving it nearly empty and placed it on the bar next to her.

Sedaiyus finished off his own drink and asked the bartender for another and informed him that anything Cassandra wanted would be placed on his tab. Sedaiyus grinned at the thought of Cassandra taking a night off to have some fun. He wasn't a firm believer in hard work or any work for that matter so he approved of her decision. "Well Cassandra, I certainly hope you enjoy yourself this evening then. No one should work so hard without at least a little time to kick back and experience the pleasures this city has to offer, especially a lovely gal like yourself. But I guess I simply wouldn't understand, I was raised a boy of privilege I guess. I wouldn't say my childhood was easy, certainly nightmarish when I think about it, heh literally hell too."
Sedaiyus said jokingly though Cassandra might not understand that his sarcastic remark about his childhood being hell was as he said quite literal. And though he had never been even with his mother someone of great wealth, it was how they lived, as they always got what they desired. "But none the less the work you have had to do to get where you are, I cannot empathize I'm afraid, but I do in fact admire it." Sedaiyus chuckled faintly as he noticed the same behavior Cassandra displayed that most men and woman under any title, job, or class related to being a soldier or lawman would display when in an unfamiliar environment.
"I must be lousy company to make you feel so on guard. I do believe I was given a clear time frame before I would expect anyone hunting me down, at least for tonight, no one will be sneaking up on me. I will go if it makes you feel safer though. It isn't your problem after all and besides, this is your night to have to fun remember, no reason to be on the look out just because you were gracious enough to hang out a bit with a trouble maker like me." Sedaiyus got up to go but stood waiting for his drink first. He looked at Cassandra and smiled warmly.
"I think you made a good choice becoming a federal marshal. You don't seem so uptight like most of the suits I have seen. And no need to fret over anything, I found your comment quite amusing, no harm done." Sedaiyus sighed as his drink arrived. He grabbed it and took a sip and placed it down. Sedaiyus thought for a moment then grinned seductively. "Before I get as far away as I can for your own safety and since I will probably never see you again given the circumstances. I don't suppose you would bless me with a small teeny tiny favor would you? One dance? I promise if we get assaulted I will protect you." Sedaiyus said with a friendly wink ironically as technically it was a law enforcement agents job to protect people.

Cassandra couldn’t help noticing that as Sedaiyus spoke, his tone was continuously light, playful almost, and he really seemed to enjoy the idea of people just enjoying themselves. She wasn’t completely sure how to respond to someone quite like this, as she had never encounter someone that gave her quite the feeling that she was getting right now. It was odd, almost like there was something off about this guy but he seemed harmless enough to her, so she brushed it off as just paranoia seeing she was off duty and actually outside of her own place. She hadn’t been in LA all that long but she did know her way around pretty well thanks to the individual work that she often did on her own. However, Sedaiyus seemed much more into the enjoyable interactive night life of the city than she would probably ever be, so she just smiled and took notes as she felt the need. Granted, she wasn’t always the best discriminator of motives in people but she could often tell if they were even a danger to begin with and then she caught his comment about his childhood and even though his tone remained playful, she wondered if there was actually something more to it that he had decided not to say, or just couldn’t. Then, just as quickly as before he suddenly jumped from talking about himself to admiring her position as a Marshal.
“It had its obstacles along the way but after going through everything my mom and I went through as I was growing up, they really weren’t all that big of a deal.” She kept her own tone light and even though with that she couldn’t’ possibly pretend to be playful, she still managed a smile as she brought her eyes from the rest of the room back to rest on Sedaiyus. She was sure that her body language was much more tense than she would have liked but she did her best to keep her facial expressions more relaxed for the sake of being able to pull off a lie if need be, at least with most people other than someone with a trained eye for reading people well. To her surprise her thoughts were right in sync with Sedaiyus as he confirmed that she definitely had her guard up and instantly she felt bad about it but she also knew she couldn’t help herself. Feeling the way she did she automatically reacted as he stood up to leave and she surprisingly found herself reaching out to lightly touch his hand.
“It’s alright Sedaiyus... The Russian Mob doesn’t bother me…” As she finished speaking a smile spread across her lips naturally and she was glad that she didn’t have to try to fake it. She seemed to relax somewhat, though not completely, at least not yet. However, she found her self amused with his approval of her job choice and she wondered how much he knew about the type of work she did. However, she didn’t ask and when his drink arrived, she finished off her own and ordered another from the bartender while he was there. As she turned her gaze from behind the bar back to Sedaiyus, her eyes instantly landed on a grin she hadn’t expected to see. For one, this was not a simple grin of orneriness or playful behavior, no this grin was much more. Secondly, she had noted that he was a good looking guy but the grin completely caught her off guard and she literally almost fell right off the stool she was sitting on. The next few sentences of his were kind of in and out for her as she worked on getting her concentration back on track. He mentioned something about her safety and never seeing her again before he asked her to dance. At this point she was fairly sure that she should just turn him down and walk away before she let this guy talk her into anything she might regret later on. However, she felt herself give long before it even got started.
“I’d love to dance and I’ll also let you protect me as long as you can before I just arrest the punks and hall them off to prison.” She smiled and lightly bit her lower lip before finally standing up. She lightly placed her hand on Sedaiyus’ arm and leaned in closely before nearly whispering to him that she would follow if he took the lead. Yes, she loved to dance and no, she would never turn it down. Dance to her was a great relief and even though there was a part of her that was saying to keep this guy at a distance, she couldn’t help but be interested by him and curious to find what little quarks he might have.
