Working at Charms N Thangs had its advantages especially if you were a witch or any supernatural being for that matter. The amount of information that was available was overwhelming at times. But there were just certain aspects of the supernatural world that could not be explored through just books. There was a lot of the occult and folklore world that was better explained in museums and other legit shops that actually had enough service and money to provide its customers with more research options. So, when Jericho, her best friend and fellow supernatural being, suggested that they check out the new occult exhibit at the Los Angeles Historical Museum, Tahlia jumped at the opportunity. Aside from the obvious need to understand her own growing abilities, Tahlia always had a difficult time saying no to the possibility of adding to her learning and intelligence even if she did have her first lab report due in a few days. She would definitely pay for THAT later.
Tahlia had always had a unique curiosity for the occult. It was difficult though to actually indulge herself in that interest when she was too busy working towards her second and ‘most important’ degree of physics. If anything could pull her away from her responsibilities, it would be occult research….or Jericho maybe. Tahlia glanced towards him and smiled bumping into Jericho playfully as they waited in line to go into the exhibit. ”Are you ready for this craziness!” She had such a hard time containing her excitement right now which would have been strange to witness if you were anyone but Jericho. But if anyone was able to get to the real Tahlia, it was Jericho. They had met a few years back in a weird banshee attack. It had been the first time she had seen anything truly supernatural, and because they had gone through it together, it sparked a bond between the two. And even though she had a coven now, Jericho was the only one that would ever go to something like this with her.

Today was going to be a good day. He knew this, and not because he was feeling the positive and sunny emotions from every little person he walked passed today, he just knew. He knew that Lia was so friggin pumped for the exhibit today and he knew that he himself was kinda interested to see what he could find out, especially when the 'Legend of the King Wolf' was being unmasked. Sadly, the legend of Jerry's ancestors was going to be unveiled in front of a bunch of innocents, but this was a great chance to take a look into the truths behind the Brother's Trinity, which to him right now only meant that for some reason him and his brothers were super werewolves. He was actually really excited - yet undeniably nervous, to find out more. And who better then with the occult-studying wicca-chick herself. Sure Levi would be completely dismissive of the idea and Tyler was less research man and more 'crush, kill, destory dude', but that didn't mean that Lia was the consolation prize. He loved his little magical bestie and sure, finding out more information from newly uncovered artefacts was awesome, but these two can make fun out of any situation. Even a museum.
Standing next to Lia in the que, he could feel her excitement. And now, he got to see it. Feeling the nudge into him, he looked to her inquisitively until she spoke. She was so adorable, if she wasn't then they would definitely have a problem. He smirked at her, letting out a small chuckle as he then looked to her. "I can safely say I am. The only thing I am worried about is if your craziness and the craziness already in the building clash, if everyone will still be safe". He smiled at her as he wrapped his arm around hers as they moved further up the line. "This is pretty big though. I'm not really into the werewolf history, but this is an awesome chance to find out more about -". Okay Jerry, you're in a crowd remember? Lowering his voice, he moved his mouth a bit closer to Lia. "- the Brothers Trinity destiny and what it means. Not to mention this is great for you Occult and Folklore class". He is just captain safety now, voice lowered and trying not to sound completely suss. The only suss thing is that they looked like some kind of married couple and they were walking into an opening exhibit with history buff professors and officials. The perks of swaying the people at the front door with a little empathic control. Sometimes, being a werewolf ruled!
As they stood in line, Jerry was about to check his phone to see if Kara called when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Turning, he glanced and saw who it was. Oh god! This was officially a nightmare now, it was the one person that could make today unbearable! Gloria Gibbs. She is the dean of UCLA's daughter, and so annoying. She usually is found parading around campus being super perky and intrigued. Sadly, she is picked on but really, so annoying. And she had spotted Jerry. Here of all places! Why? "Jericho! OMG I didn't know you were a history buff! How super awesome! Should we all go - TOGETHER!". Oh, god. Jerry looked from Gibbs to Lia, and knew he had to play this card. Hated it but it worked well. Come on, Jerry is hot and Lia is a girl. One plus one equals - "I'm actually on a date with my girlfriend, Tahlia Morrison. But - I'll talk to you later Gloria, okay?". Turning back around, the line was far off now. So moving fast, they were seconds away from being into the exhibit. Thank god. Whispering, he smirked. "Straight card, works every time".

”My craziness?” Tahlia asked touching her chest with her hand accusingly. ”I assure you Jericho Wolfe that I am not at all crazy. She beamed at him as he wrapped his arm around hers to walk on as a pair through the line. ”I’m just an occult nerd who is so excited about what is in there. That never hurt anyone, right?” It was nice to have someone hold her like this. Even though it was not at all romantic between the two of them and it never would be, it was always nice how touchy he was with her. She liked his arm around hers. She liked their cuddlefests when they would watch movies together on a Saturday night, if he could pull her away from her homework long enough. She liked his hugs whenever they would see each other even if it was only an hour before the last time they had seen each other. She felt in a sense WANTED which was something she never really felt. But of course, that was because she would never let anyone else other than Jericho, a gay man, in enough to get that close. In a way, it was better that way. She was guaranteed never to slip up with him because he played for a different team. He was the perfect friend for this kind of stuff. She would get the loving and caring side of a relationship without actually BEING in a relationship.
Jericho spoke again, and Tahlia leaned in to hear his whispers. She laughed as he mentioned the Brothers Trinity. ”Oh come on, Jer. No one REALLY cares about that stuff,” she joked knowing full well that too many people would kill to know more about the Trinity Brothers, so they could destroy the bond that had been created. It was actually dangerous. She found that out the hard way when she had first met Jericho, and they were both attacked. As dangerous as it had been, Tahlia was drawn in. She was interested in the bond, curious about it. And of course she would be. It was her nature. But Jericho was right to whisper. They had to be quiet tonight if they talked about it at all. Besides, she wasn’t too keen on people finding out that she had abilities either. Who knew what modern society would do to her. She hoped they had found better ways of killing than hangings or stoning. It made Lia shudder at the possibility of being killed from either.
Tahlia sighed as the line moved rather slowly. She HATED waiting for anything really even if it was a line for something this cool. She could feel a tug at her arm as Jericho peered over his shoulder at something. Tahlia followed suite to see what he was looking at. It had been Gloria Gibbs, the way too religious, far too perky for her own good, I’m so much better than everyone else dean’s daughter who had actually become Tahlia’s competition in her Physics program. Tahlia was just as happy to see Gloria as Jericho seemed to be. ”Oh well, Gloria we were just….” Tahlia began getting ready to come up with some really stupid lie to keep her off their backs for the night, but Jericho beat her too it. ”Yep, on a date…..” Tahlia said without even thinking but scrunched her eyebrows when she had realized what was said. ”Wait, what?” She asked, but Jericho had already turned them around and was pulling her along towards the front of the line.
Tahlia smiled slightly as they reached the front of the line, but it was somewhat of a bother to her that he had told Gloria that. If people did know Lia, she was one to not date anyone, to focus on school work, to be the best she could be without letting others get in her way. Gloria being her one and only competition in their program, it would only give Tahlia a disadvantage now that she assumed that the two of them were dating. It was amazing how even after everything, Tahlia still cared what people thought of her, but she didn’t say anything to Jericho about it. She wouldn’t. He found nothing wrong with what had just happened, and she wasn’t going to let it alter the fun night of research they were going to have. Tahlia stepped up to the booth sliding her ticket that she had already bought a few days before under the glass wall between the ticket guy and herself. He ripped the ticket at the dotted line and slid it back to Tahlia. “Enjoy,” he told her in a very monotone voice. ”Oh, you don’t have to worry about that,” she said with a smile picking up the ticket. “Wasn’t gonna,” he said not even looking at her as he ripped Jericho’s ticket and slid it back to him. Tahlia couldn’t believe the rudeness of some people, but she ignored it as she pulled at Jericho. ”Let’s do this, boyfriend!” she said trying to assure him that it hadn’t been a problem what he had said to Ms. Gibbs even though deep down it was tearing at her. It was only a lie, she told herself hoping that the next time she saw Gloria in class, she hadn’t already started with her mouth and told everything that Tahlia was losing her touch.

"Except for anyone that stands in your way". He smirked with a little playful nudge to her. It was a passion. Tahlia had a passion for the unexplainable. Hell, she was hanging out with a werewolf and she was a witch. Enough said. Even though they didn't exactly understand what that all meant between each other, like Jerry kept either visualizing a Fantasia flashback or magic wands, they were both keen. Tahlia could use this for some grades, but for Jerry it was much more. It was understanding - well, himself. Understanding where he came from, the history of lycans - of werewolves. Understanding the origins, the beliefs and legends that come with. He really could not wait to get through those doors. But now it was open to the public, to those who might use this information against them. The thought worried him, freaked him out really. Who knew what this all held? But he was eager to find out. Of course she joked about it, but he knew that she knew how much this meant to him. He was kind of psyched. "Ha ha, but seriously. I am both psyched yet completely freaked out to find out what is in here. This is the biggest collection of occult legends in the world, maybe it has the truth about Big Foot". He smirked as they got that little bit closer.
After covering up against Gloria Gibbs and moving towards the ticket desk, his smile turned sour. It was like he was feeling upset, intensely upset about something. About something that just happened, and was directed at him. He was upset with himself. It was then as they got to the ticket holder that he realized it was Tahlia, upset with Jerry. Giving her a quick glance, handing his ticket over and such, he glanced at Tahlia. Was that a bad move? It was then he realized; Gloria Gibbs was in Tahlia's class. To be seen as a serious student and strongly into the occult but being perceived as just going on a date to a museum was probably a big ego basher. He felt it from her, even when his arm wasn't around hers and stood back as she argued with the ticket man, who was being a punk. He looked at him, a bit pissed off at him and all he wanted was to give him the emotion storm and leave him grovelling but he decided to channel a little bit of remorse into the guy, and walk straight passed him. Well, not without calling him a 'douche' and catching up with Lia, who he could still feel a bit of bother coming from the girl.
Walking with Lia who clutched his arm, pretending to be all fine but Jerry knew better. Technically, he could feel better. "I'm an ass, I'm sorry. Don't try to show a brave face to an empath, it gets you no where. I didn't think, I forgot Gloria is in your occult class. Didn't mean to kill your supernatural buzz". He said, putting his arm around her as they walked on inside. He really didn't think then, all he knew is that Gloria was the most annoying little bitch in the world and he wanted her to catch a hint and leave them alone. He felt bad, really bad. "Please forgive me, Lia. And remember that I know if you do or not, fuzzy little emotion detector here. But if it makes you feel better, if we see Gloria I will start this who scripted scene where you were the one to drag me here. Even though I am so excited, I may have an accident". He joked in a playful voice as they moved forwards and Jerry looked up, spotting a sign directing to the 'King Wolfe Legend' display. Score, but before he could learn about who he was, he had to know that Lia knew he was sorry.

Tahlia wasn’t surprised when Jericho started apologizing. She knew she was horrible at lying and even worse at keeping secrets. But it turned out that it was neither one of those reasons why he caught on to her obvious agitation at her best friend. It was his empathic ability that was the culprit here, and she had completely forgotten about it. By now, she should have been able to remember that Jericho could easily know when something was wrong with her without her even saying anything to him. ”You get me every time with that, mister mind reader!” Tahlia said as she hit him on the shoulder playfully. She knew he couldn’t read her mind, but it was almost like he could. Jericho knew her so well that he could pinpoint what it was that bothered her even if he hadn’t been there to witness it himself. And it was because they were so close that Tahlia could never stay mad at him for too long without feeling bad about it.
As he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, Tahlia smiled softly. Who wanted to stay angry anyway when you were about to go into the coolest event ever?! Tahlia giggled as he begged her to forgive him. ”Okay okay okay! You are forgiven, so put your emotion detector away!” He could never really put it away though, which was something Tahlia still had to get used to. Believe it or not, there were things that Jericho didn’t know about her, one of which she was delving into ways to see her brother again. It was dangerous, and if she was able to keep her emotions in check, she wouldn’t have to worry about him finding out. She glanced up at the ‘King Wolf Legend’ sign that they were now passing under. ”Bigfoot, here we come,” Tahlia joked as they entered the display room. "What if the King Wolf was actually God in disguise? Wouldn't that be something?" Tahlia laughed at her stupid comment.

Since he had basically made sure that all feelings were amended, they could go on with the day. It was better that way. Jerry had one rule; not to control his friends and families emotions. Sure, he'll pick them up. But he won't meddle with what they are feeling, but talking about it is something that he definitely can't resist. It was a trust thing. Jerry was strong on trust, like if a friendship doesn't have the remote thing like trust, then what good is it? Jerry had that with Lia, hell she knew the big bad Wolfe secret anyway, how could he not trust her. She was trustworthy, fun, geeky in that not overly way, and she was his friend. To him, Lia had definitely earned herself twenty gold stars. Hearing what she said, he smirked at her. "If that were true, no wonder I am such an angel". He joked as the two of them moved in the direction of the object of Jerry's desire. The secret that could unlock so much to him. The reason why he was a werewolf. The weapon that someone could use to destroy him.
Getting to the display, his eyes gazed all over it. Chunks of millenia old rock with carvings of wolves and men on there, a prime god drawing of the King Wolfe. It was magnificant. He could already tell a lot of it out. One image of a breasted woman, covering in light is obviously Annabelle; the creator of the fairies. Jenna would be so proud. He could see the King Wolf cursing a man, and everything else. It was extraordinary, and as he got closer it was like his eyes were lighting up. There was a vase with carvings on it of the wolves battling the unholy; aka, the vampires. There was a big pearl full moon, found in a cave in Italy. It was amazing, looking at it. He had only caught a bit of it, but it was amazing so far. Moving closer, his eyes gazed over it. This was it, this is what he was looking for. But before he could piece it together, he felt - weak. Feeling like a vibe of pain went through him, his legs instantly turned to jelly. Stumbling back, Jerry dropped to the ground. His body was paining, and looking up he saw it. His eyes widdened. Suddenly, he didn't hear anyone else in the exhibit. They were gone, but looking up he saw them. This didn't make sense; it was Gloria Gibbs holding a chunk of moonrock.
"Gloria, what are you doing?". He asked, going to get up but then felt the blunt end of a baton smash him in the face. Falling back to the ground, Jerry looked up to his left to see - the ticket guy. What was this? But when he felt the room, he felt only Lia's emotions. They were emotionless. It only meant two things. One, that Gloria and the ticket-guy are actually soulless, or that they were being mind melded by a vampire. Guess it was ticket number two, and so did Jerry as he felt the ticket-guy kick into him. "Lia, stay away. They are under there control now. Run". He told her, trying to get up but being belted to the ground with the baton again. God, nothing could work out right with him - ever.
